SYNOPSIS
Nothing is sacred in this merciless spoof of modern political propagandizing from the outrageous mind of David Zucker (Airplane!, the Naked Gun series). While on a mindless quest to abolish the Fourth of July, notorious documentary filmmaker Michael Moo…—er, Michael Malone—joins forces with a bunch of Afghan terrorists (all named Mohammed) to make his first feature, an Islamic boy-beheads-girl love story. Malone, our modern-day Scrooge, is visited by a series of ghosts, including JFK, Patton, and George Washington. Via a series of mystical revelations and some well-placed slapping, these patriotic spirits set out to show Malone that America ain’t such a bad country after all. Liberals, conservatives, NASCAR, the ACLU, Arabs, Christians, and Hollywood rabble-rousers are all roasted in this Independence Day barbecue that’s politically incorrect, highly insightful—and absolutely uproarious.
